Taller troubleshooting

Coming soon

What to do when an agent won't start, the diff doesn't update, a workspace fails or the dsa command doesn't show up.

The agent won't start

  • Open a terminal and launch the agent by hand. If it fails there too, the problem is with the agent's installation or session, not with the Taller.

  • Check that the agent is on the path (PATH) the Taller sees, in Settings → Agents.

  • Try the tab's Restart button.

The diff looks odd or doesn't change

  • Press refresh in the diff bar: the Taller reads the workspace again.

  • If you used git outside the Taller (for example a rebase or a reset), wait for the Taller to notice or refresh by hand.

A workspace can't be created

  • The starting branch may not be downloaded. Open a terminal in the project and run:

git fetch origin
  • There may already be a workspace for that branch. Delete it or choose another branch name.

The dsa command says "command not found"

Turn it on in Settings → General → dsa command. On macOS it's installed in ~/.local/bin: check that this folder is in your shell's PATH. On Linux the command is called dsa-taller.

SSH connects, but remote terminals fail

  • The remote machine needs Node and internet access the first time, to install its part of the Taller.

  • On Linux, install build tools (make, g++ or clang++, python3) if terminals never open.

  • Reconnect after installing them.

Over SSH, files download but folders don't

Downloading a whole folder needs SFTP. If it isn't available, use tar or scp from a terminal.

My tools don't show up in the terminal

Your settings may be in a file the login shell doesn't read. See the terminal.

The app is slow

  • Close or archive the workspaces you no longer use: every open terminal and agent uses memory.

  • Share heavy folders between workspaces instead of copying them (see workspaces).
